Using Your Library Card
The North Shelby Library offers a variety of computer classes free to the community. Registration can be taken online on our Events Calendar or by phone at 205.439.5510 or email .
The North Shelby Library offers 16 public-access Internet computers available for use by both cardholders and non-cardholders(3 visit maximum for non-cardholders). Programs available for use on public computers are Microsoft 2013 Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Publisher.
We also offer one iMACs, located in the Young Adult department.
Copies are $.10 per page for black & white and $0.50 for color
Scanning is free.

Printing from public computers is $.10 for black & white and $0.50 for color
We have 3D printing available, under library supervision, for educationally sanctioned items for school or library projects.
The library's 3D printer may be used only for lawful purposes. Patrons will not be permitted to use the library's 3D printer to create objects that are:
- Prohibited by local, state, or federal law.
- Unsafe, harmful, dangerous, obscene, or an immediate threat to the welfare of others.
- In violation of another's intellectual property rights, i.e. the printers will not be used to reproduce material that is subject to copyright, patent, or trademark protection.

All Proctored exams are $10 each.
We do not accept walk-ins. Tests must be scheduled at least one week in advance of test. No exceptions.
We do not proctor new students in June & July.
Notary hours are Monday-Friday 10:30 to 3:30, in the Business Office. First signature is free, any signatures after that are $5 each and the limit is 5. We do not handle Wills, Divorce Decrees, and Real Estate Closings.
